Today is the beginning of a new semester. My college students are trudging back to class. They cannot believe that winter break went by so fast.

This year, my Eng 102 (Literature) students will be analyzing poetry and fiction. They will also get a healthy dose of dramatic literature. Some of my students love to read plays. They enjoy the wit and wisdom within the dialogue. They also like the fact that it's quicker than most novels. Unfortunately, some students are slow to connect with the material. If you fall into that catagory, be certain to check out this guide to Reading Dramatic Literature.

My students will be reading one of my personal favorites: Man and Superman by George Bernard Shaw. It's an oldie-but-a-goodie.

What about the rest of you? As an English student, what plays have you been assigned to read? Was it astounding or annoying? Share your thoughts and classroom experiences in the Plays/Drama Forum.
