1. Scientists, Technologists and Artists Generating Exploration (STAGE) Competition
Here's a rewarding challenge: Create a stage play that explores the issues of science and technology.
Sponsored by the California NanoSystems Institute at the University of California, Santa Barbara, S.T.A.G.E. will award a $10,000 prize to the winning playwright. Also, the dramatist will have a chance to develop and promote their work, along with guidance from a professional artists and scientists.

2. Pioneer Drama Service - Shubert Fendrich Playwritng Contest
Pioneer Drama Service is a terrific resource for drama teachers of all grade levels. Each year, they offer scores of new dramatic works. Each year, the Shubert Fendrich Playwriting Contest seeks an exceptional play suitable for educational and community theaters. The contest honors the company's founder who passed away in 1989.

Uh-oh, you were writing a ten minute play but it ran a little too long? That’s perfect! The Turnip Theatre Company, based in New York City, is currently seeking 15 minute scripts.
Each presented play receives a $25 royalty and winners receive cash awards from $100-$300. "Cash awards of $100 for Best Play, Best Direction, Best Performance, and Audience Favorite. Less conventional works compete for the Alan Minieri Memorial Playwriting Award ($300) presented in honor of Turnip Theatre Company’s late Artistic Director."
