The highly successful musical "The Book of Mormon" blitzed Los Angeles this season. Although that's right in my back yard, I never got the chance to see the show. Tickets sold at lightning speed, and they were a little too pricey for my taste. (Although I must admit, ticket prices were a bargain compared to today's typical Broadway show.)
I have, however, lived vicariously through several friends who watched this hit show, created by the masterminds of South Park and Avenue Q. My friends loved the show. But they did mention that several people were surprised by the offensive language and subject matter. I'm not sure how those folks missed the buzz about "The Book of Mormon." Yet, perhaps they simply didn't suspect how far Trey Parker and Matt Stone can drag a joke through the Land of Shock Value.
