Senior Prom Monologues - Comedic Scenes for Teens

Was Prom the greatest moment of your life? Was it the worst? Or was it just boring? I had fun at my Prom (20 years ago -- shudder!). But I recall a lot of students who just took their senior prom way too seriously, like it was the very reason they were born.

With this obsession in mind, I began working on a play called Promedy, a comedy about teenagers and that American institution we call Prom. Now that the play is finished, I thought I'd share a few of my favorite monologues from the show. Feel free to use these for educational purposes or for auditions.

"Beatrix's Monologue": The strong willed female lead explains why young women need the Prom.

"Dante Pops the Question": The self proclaimed drama-geek is infatuated with the beautiful and popular cheerleader. He boldly asks her to the Prom. What do you think she'll say?

"Dante's Revenge": After being jilted, Dante tries to convince the rest of the students that the Prom should be canceled.
