His long and prolific career was riddled with bouts of alcoholism, family strife, and depression. Yet, as many writers have done before, he took life's agony and crafted pages of tragic beauty.

Eugene O'Neill began his life long dedication to writing plays during his twenties. From 1912 until his death in 1953, he penned over sixty dramas. Many of his works were performed on Broadway. Some of his most famous plays include:
